Return Junk Mail to Banks With Message

This video explains several great ideas to show our displeasure with the financial industry while making them pay for it. I’ll be doing all but adding wood to my junk mail from banks as well as political solicitations I don’t support. If you’re with me, please leave a comment.

  1. I have done this for years… but never thought of wod… I cut my newspaper to fit the envelope and stuff that in LOL

  2. Enclose old magnet advertising.like business cards, or pizza addresses. These can be very heavy too.

I seem to remember a book titled “Steal this Book” which recommended wrapping a brick with brown paper, then affixing the envelope front to that freshly wrapped package.

  3. Great idea! Can’t wait until the next piece of junk mail lands in my mailbox. I’ll tell all 47 of my colleagues to do the same. Big banks are NOT too big to fail. We won’t get fooled again.

  4. I’ve done the newspaper trick or sent fake money back to solicitors like the Heritage Foundation (they got my name when I voted no on one of their polls), but I like the idea of including banks and insurance companies in my return junk mail list.

  5. Slap the envelope on any package, we put them on a brick enclosed in a cardboard box. It helps the post office and pisses off the bank.

  6. My friend WilliamBanzai7 did the artwork on this and someone sent him a photo:

He has art daily on The Village Voice, his own blog and on Zero Hedge.

  7. nswfm – Thanks for the link to the MasterCon picture. Petunia and Gindy 53 – A brick won’t make the banks pay. See http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/566/can-i-mail-a-brick-back-to-a-junk-mail-firm-using-the-business-reply-envelope. Interesting thought. Looks like we’re limited to what actually fits into the envelope.

  8. Wow what a great suggestion. I have health issues and this way I can do my part.

  9. I too have been doing this for years, just never thought about putting on youtube, glad that guy did.

    Hope it goes viral.

I moved my money 2 years ago, hope BOA sinks like the Titanic. Oh and Goldman Sachs too. Just to name 2.

  10. I love it. I do it. By the way, I’ve had my accounts at a credit union for over 20 years, Besides, I’m an underpaid, under-employed artist and there’s no money to move anyway.
