DBAA: Alaska Economic Development Resource Guide

Today’s Alaska agency database from the Alaska page of State Agency Databases Across the Fifty States is:

  • Alaska Economic Development Resource Guide – This database allows you to search for economic development assistance based on type of organization, type of aid being sought (grants, technical assistance, etc) and area of interest (credit unions, native crafts, historic preservation, etc). Results include program agency, program goals, resource provided, eligibility guidelines, funding status, comments and program contact information.

“Type of Organization” includes the general public, so there are resources, including grants, aimed at individuals. For example, if you select “general public” as an organization, “grants” as a resource, and “Native Crafts” as your economic development area of interest, you’ll come up with a list of four grant programs.

Next week we’ll look at the Alaska Photo Library, which may provide you with useful material for your websites and brochures as long as you honor the licensing terms.
