Three Books on Chase

This week our “Three Books on …” series takes us to Chase. Here is a description of Chase’s location and climate from Alaska Community Database:

Chase is located on the east bank of the Susitna River, 9 air miles north of Talkeetna in the Mat-Su Borough. It lies approximately 125 miles from Anchorage, at mile 236 of the Alaska Railroad. There is no road access. The community lies at approximately 62.456110° North Latitude and -150.115280° West Longitude. (Sec. 1, T027N, R005W, Seward Meridian.) Chase is located in the Talkeetna Recording District. On average, January temperatures range from 1 to 20 °F. July temperatures range from 49 to 68 °F. Average annual total precipitation is 28 inches, and average annual snowfall is 121 inches.

You can learn more about Chase by reading their full profile from the Alaska Community Database.

Looking through WorldCat, we find just one book with Chase as a subject:

Matanuska-Susitna Borough (Alaska). 1993. Chase comprehensive plan. [Palmer, Alaska]: Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

Ok. So it’s one book rather than three. Maybe we’ll have better luck next week when our trek through WorldCat takes us to Chefarnok.
