Three Books on Alcan Border

This week our “Three Books on …” series takes us to the community of Alcan Border. Here is a description of Alcan Border’s location and climate from the Alaska Communities Database:

Alcan is located just inside the Alaska border, southeast of Northway along the Alaska-Canadian highway. The community lies at approximately 62.661760° North Latitude and -141.161230° West Longitude. (Sec. 04, T026N, R022E, Copper River Meridian.) Alcan Border is located in the Fairbanks Recording District. Alcan Border is in the continental climatic zone and the area experiences cold winters and warm summers. Average temperatures range from -27 to 69 degrees Fahrenheit.

Looking through WorldCat, I only found one book having Alcan Border as a subject. A phone directory:

PTI Communications Ltd. 1900s. The directory: North Pole, including Alcan-Border City, Allakaket, Delta Junction, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, Fort Wainwright, Hughes, Huslia, Kaltag, Koyukuk, Nenana, Northway, Nulato. [Anchorage, AK]: PTI Communications.

If you want more information about the town of Alcan Border, go to the Alaska Communities Database link above and read the full profile.

I don’t feel too bad about this. This series has been going on for nine weeks now and this is the first community that WorldCat has failed me on. Perhaps we’ll have better luck next week when our trek through WorldCat takes us to Aleknagik.
