Merry Christmas

I wish all of my Christian friends a very Merry Christmas. May it be an occasion to reflect on the life of Jesus and how he chose to live His life in love, healing and in service to others. And because the manger can be said to be in the shadow of the Cross, may we also reflect on His selfless sacrifice and glorious resurrection.

To my non-Christian friends, I say this is the season to hold us Christians accountable to what we say we believe. Do our actions reflect the love and mercy of Joseph, Mary and the Magi? Or are we like the Roman soldiers who sought to crush perceived threats to their time honored way of life? Are we living out the fruits of the Holy Spirit spelled out in Galatians 5: 22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control? If not, call us out in the name of Him whose day we celebrate today.
