On Tuesday, January 20th, the 26th Session of the Alaska State Legislature will get underway. If you’d like to follow the activities of your legislature, then bookmark http://www.legis.state.ak.us/, the official site of the Legislature. Here you will find a number of helpful features including:
- Toll-free numbers (within Alaska) for your legislators
- Live audio and video feeds of floor sessions
- A searchable database of bills before the legislature where you can read the text of bills AND see where they are in the legislative process.
- Get an orientation to the legislature and lawmaking process through the Civics Learning Center.
You can even state your opinion to your legislator in 50 words or less over the web if you don’t have or want to use e-mail.
If you are an Alaskan voter, you elected these men and women to represent you. Keep up with what they’re doing for you over the next 90 days.
