From time to time, I have reason to access the official Vatican web site at http://www.va. Most of the time I can drill down the various levels of the site to what I’m looking for, but sometimes I need to search. I used to dread those times because the Vatican search engine wasn’t that great.
Now it’s terrific. I don’t care whether you’re Catholic or not. Go and give it a try. The results are now presented in tabs by source. This saves you time when you’re looking for an office and not a reference in a papal letter. An especially helpful feature for Catholics is that there is a separate result displayed in a right hand window specifically from the Catechism. One call also limit results by language — VERY helpful for the multilingual Vatican.
