The President and his supporters like to charge critics of his policies as unrealistic people who don’t understand that “9/11 changed everything.”
But what could be more pre 9/11 than supporting nondemocratic regimes through weapons sales? If our safety depends on promoting democracy, why are we continuing to back despotic, torturing regimes in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and other gulf states whose citizens made up a majority of the 9/11 hijackers?
