Dear Reader,
I’m wondering whether any of you have used the “posts by del.icio.us tag” feature of Alaskan Librarian. For example, you can use this feature to find all of my postings on interesting podcasts.
I originally started manually tagging entries with del.icio.us tags for my own reference and for the possible use of others.
But I find [...]

Recently I listened to this podcast from LISRadio:
October 19, 2006 – LiS ClassCast – ISLT 9441 The School Library–Interview with a School Librarian
Summary: Beth Wakely interviewed Judi Knight an elementary school librarian in the Ferguson Florissant School District.
It was especially interesting for me because Ms. Knight discussed how she was using the book Balto and [...]

People sometimes claim that the Bible isn’t relevant to daily life. But Friday’s (10/20/2006) Gospel reading from the Catholic Lectionary has some advice that politicians, bloggers, im’ers, e-mailers and anyone else who communicates electronicly should take to heart:
“There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed,
nor secret that will not be known.
Therefore whatever you have [...]

One of the podcasts I listen to is the feed from the library-based OPAL (Online Programming for All Libraries) site. OPAL is used by many libraries across the country to offer programming for patrons and library staff alike. If you’d like to get some get continuing education while getting a glimpse of what might [...]

The other day I ran across a blog by a woman who describes herself as an older student at the University of Alaska Southeast here in Juneau.
The blog is a mix of meditations on life here in Alaska, some ecology and some really stunning photographs. I don’t see a usage statement on the photos from [...]

I’ve started experimenting with Google Pages, Google’s webhosting service. I’ve started migrating my pages to http://danielcornwall.googlepages.com/. My original web site is still up, and will remain so until I’ve migrated all the pages and satisfy myself that this is really a good alternative.
Why bother? Because once you get the pages up, Google Pages seems to [...]

The Clark County Public Library in Springfield, Ohio is calling itself the information place and I think it does a good job. It makes good use of color and graphics, which shows they have mastery over MySpace formatting. They have attractively put up their hours and links to Internet safety sites, plus their “interests” section [...]
