I’m happy to report that one of my favorite radio shows that I rarely get to listen to is now podcasting.
The show is called AK is a hour weekly show focusing on life in Alaska.
Some recent show descriptions are:
- MIGRATION – Find out about Alaska’s favorite migratory birds and the people who migrate to watch them. Plus, what’s it like to move from Africa’s largest country to America’s largest state? And, an unconscious migration from Dutch Harbor to Anchorage.
- THIS AND THAT – A garage sale of AK stories.. we visit what was once Sunrise gold camp, take ukulele lessons, catch up with rapper Jaye Ulak, and head to the waters of Glacier Bay.
- BREAKUP – Rivers are melting, finally. We remember fish camp in the old days, visit with the broken – hearted Alaskans, hear about Chevak tribal courts and visit songsmith Robin Hopper.
- EXPORTING ALASKA – The stuff Alaska sends “outside”.. like prisoners to Arizona, engineering expertise to Trinidad, and the ever popular moose poop candy dispenser. And DJ Don Drew with KTOO.

Hey there!
I agree, I enjoy AK as well, and nice they are podcasting.
Have you listened to Alaska Podshow? It’s at http://www.alaskapodshow.com that I also enjoy, an authentic podcast in contrast to radio podcasts – the host also plays local and independent music.
Anyway thought I would share and enjoy your blog very much.
Smiles, Kelly
Hi Kelly!
